Note: The workshops are on the ground floor. All workshops are for age 16 plus due to the equipment used. All equipment and materials provided unless stated in the event description. For day workshops, please bring a packed lunch, or there are takeaways and shops nearby. Please bring an apron to all workshops. Tea and coffee, biscuits and sweeties are always on free supply. Hidden Fore Edge Painting

Fore-edge painting, which is believed to date back as early as the 1650s, is a way of hiding a painting on the edge of a book so that it can only be seen when the pages are fanned out. Please bring gold-edged books. No painting skills required.
Japanese Weekend

Enjoy a weekend bookbinding Japanese style. Learn to make beautiful stab bindings, decorated with your own Suminagashi marbled paper and Sumi-e brush art. Also let your taste buds enjoy some beautiful Japanese lunches, and snacks.
