All workshops will now be held at Clove Bindery,The Old Brewery, High Street, Watton, Norfolk, IP25 6AB. There is free parking outside.

Note: The workshops are on the ground floor. All workshops are for age 16 plus due to the equipment used. All equipment and materials provided unless stated in the event description. For day workshops, please bring a packed lunch, or there are takeaways and shops nearby. Please bring an apron to all workshops. Tea and coffee, biscuits and sweeties are always on free supply. There is free parking in Watton

Gelli Mono Printing

A relatively new form of mono printing that uses flexible printing plates to create textures and layers of colour.

Secret Belgium Binding

A binding resulting in a distinct thread pattern on the cover and spine of the finished hard back book

Make a book-shaped box with a miniature bookcase inside and make the mini-books to go inside.

Coptic Binding

Employed by early Christians in Egypt with chain stitch linkings across the spine.

Sewing Endbands

Wed 7 Feb 10.30am - 3.30pm  £40

Learn how to sew end bands with silk, bring along a couple of pre made text blocks. This is a more advanced session. 

Pancakes in the Bindery!

Tue 13 Feb 6.30am - 9pm  Free (but booking required)

Cooked on a traditional finishing stove! Just bring a topping if you like! Lemons and sugar stocked! Fun, and games also provided!

Hidden Fore Edge Painting 

Sat 17 Feb 10.30am - 4.30pm  £40

Fore-edge painting, which is believed to date back as early as the 1650s, is a way of hiding a painting on the edge of a book so that it can only be seen when the pages are fanned out. Please bring  gold-edged books. No painting skills required. 

Japanese Weekend

Sat & Sun 23 & 24 Feb 10.30 - 4.30pm £12o

Enjoy a weekend bookbinding Japanese style. Learn to make beautiful stab bindings, decorated with your own Suminagashi marbled paper and Sumi-e brush art. Also let your taste buds enjoy some beautiful Japanese lunches, and snacks.
